January 2025. It has not been possible for me to update the eBook for use with the ESAT. It is still relevant, with the following changes:
Some Physics topics are no longer relevant since they are no longer on the specification. As long as you have sufficient time I still recommend that you learn these topics so that you can make the most of the available past papers. This also means that some of the items in the list of things to remember will not be necessary.
Where ENGAA/Engineering Admissions Assessment is used this should be replaced by ESAT/Engineering and Science Admissions Test.
The "Suggestions for Further Work" section should also include TMUA Paper 1.
As a result of this I am reducing the cost of the eBook to just £4.99.
Engineering Admissions Assessment Preparation eBook.
This eBook is available for immediate download at a cost of £4.99. It broadly consists of the following:
1. Notes on all topics which could appear on the test, excluding standard GCSE material. I recommend that the student merely read/understand these once. Preparation for exams at this level should mainly consist of lots of rewarding problem solving, not large amounts of tedious repetition of notes/theory. The notes contain over 60 worked examples.
2. Suggestions for substantial amounts of relevant extra practice.
3. An entire mock paper complete with explained answers. Its questions are generally more difficult than standard ENGAA problems. This is a deliberate tactic to make the exam seem easier by comparison.
4. A series of exercises designed to improve the speed with which candidates answer the questions.
5. A list of things to remember for the ENGAA along with an efficient and effective method for memorisation.
It is carefully and attractively typeset, is in pdf format and contains over 100 diagrams. It is over 140 pages long.
Cost : £4.99
Return/refund policy: Due to the digital and information-based nature of this product it is not possible to offer any kind of return or refund. If you have a query about the eBook I am more than happy to answer it.
It is not permitted to share this eBook. If you are a school teacher please contact me and I will give you details for a discount for purchasing multiple copies of the eBook for use by your students in your school.
Here are quotes from students/parents who bought the 2016 eBook (it was then called a handbook):
"Thank you so much for creating this handbook! It's been incredibly useful in my preparation for the ENGAA as it has concise but detailed notes with useful examples. My only regret is that I didn't buy it sooner!"
"The handbook is great. It gives you the structure you need for preparing for the ENGAA without having to research all the material yourself."
"I was very lucky to have purchased your handbook because there was a question on The Young's modulus, that I would not have been able to answer, had it not been for your notes."
"It was definitely useful especially in terms of quickly revising important concepts."
"The handbook itself was really good. Because of the problems asked there, I could understand what the questions meant."
"I really liked the layout of the notes ."
"Your handbook is excellent."
